The ride is open daily from 10:00 am-9:00 pm.
A Dark Ride is an indoor amusement ride that includes immersive storytelling as it moves riders through several scenes. Throughout the ride they will experience theatrical elements such as multimedia screens, realistic animatronics, custom soundtracks and even interactive gaming elements.
- Treasure Hunt the Ride is a pirate-themed, interactive adventure where guests are transported through a newly discovered system of caverns located beneath Monterey’s historic Cannery Row. Guests learn the legend of the notorious pirate Captain Hippolyte Bouchard and his crew of scallywags who hid their treasure in the caverns. Armed with interactive “Treasure Collector” devices, guests will collect the treasures they discover while fighting off the ghosts of Captain Bouchard and his Skeleton Crew and avoiding the giant Kraken!
- Throughout their cavernous journey, guests will experience motion, flashing lights, sounds, scents and a light mist.
The ride itself lasts 4 minutes. With queue line entertainment, elevator preshow, ride, and a final bonus scene. Guests can anticipate a ~20-minute experience from entry to exit.
- Tickets are printed with the ride time. The time printed on your ticket represents the time you should enter the queue line.
- During peak times, there may be a brief wait within the immersive queue line until the pre-show begins.
Not to worry - you will still be able to ride! However, if you do miss your scheduled time you will be placed within the general queue, and your new ride time will be based on the number of other guests ahead of you, already in queue
Yes, your admission is valid only for the date that appears on your ticket.
- Yes. Guests must meet the minimum height of 36” when accompanied by an adult and a minimum height of 52” when unaccompanied by an adult.
- All guests should be in good health and free from high blood pressure, heart, back or neck problems, motion sickness, or other conditions that could be aggravated by this adventure.
- Expectant mothers should not ride
- Guests who have a condition which may be triggered by strobe lighting should not ride.
- Guests must be able to fit comfortably within the ride car to allow the safety restraint bar to function correctly.
- Our facility is fully ADA accessible for guests with wheelchairs or other mobility devices. The elevator, located next to the ticket counter will escort them to the caverns below.
- Guests must be able to transfer into the ride seats and maintain upper body strength in order to ride. If you need assistance or have further questions, please consult a team member upon arrival.
- Large items are not allowed on the ride and should be given to a non-rider.
- The ride cars do not have onboard storage.
- For the safety of our guests, the carrying of firearms, weapons or combustible/flammable/explosive items of any kind are prohibited on the premises.
Yes, we accept walk up guests. However, please note that while we will make every effort to provide you with the earliest entry time, during peak hours immediate entry times may not be available.
Yes. Tickets can be purchased in advance on our website. You can either print your tickets or show them on your mobile device for admittance.
The Upgrade Token transforms your interactive “Treasure Collector” device from a single-fire mechanism into a rapid-fire device. You’ll collect more treasure and amass far higher point totals throughout the ride with the purchase of an Upgrade Token.
The Unlimited Rides Upgrade lets you ride as many times as you want all day for one low price. If you also purchase the Power-Up Token upgrade, The Unlimited Rides Upgrade also upgrades you to a Power-Up token each time you ride.

Each ride vehicle can accommodate up to 4 guests.
Photos and videos are allowed on the ride, but no flash photography is allowed. We also encourage photos at our kraken photo spot, and in our queue line.
Open food and drinks are not allowed on the ride.
Given the nature of the ride operation, we can not stop to look for lost articles during operating hours. Please send us an email with the date and approximate time of your ride, and a description of your lost item, and we will look for it at the end of the operating day.
No, we do not validate any parking.
