Monterey Getaways

Monterey and the surrounding area have so much to offer for visitors of all ages - from fun places for kids to romantic getaways, and active adventures like paddle boarding, kayaking, boat rentals, and Monterey Bay whale watch tours. There’s no lack of things to do in Monterey and Treasure Hunt: The Ride is located conveniently in the heart of it all.

Family Fun

Families visiting Monterey don’t have to break the bank, since Monterey offers many free activities for kids as well as fun things to do with kids.

Besides Treasure Hunt: The Ride, other Monterey kids’ attractions include the wonderful Dennis the Menace Park with its swings, bridges, and numerous climbing structures, located in El Estero Park across Del Monte Avenue from Fisherman’s Wharf Monterey and Del Monte Beach. Just a few steps away from Treasure Hunt: The Ride, families will be able to visit the popular Monterey Mirror Maze, and one of the best aquariums in California, the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

Active Adventures

If battling fierce pirates inside Treasure Hunt: The Ride hasn’t tired you out yet, Monterey offers many active adventures that will allow you to experience the destination to its fullest. Right across from our location on Cannery Row, you can rent bikes from Adventures by the Sea and ride along the Monterey Bay Coastal Trail, a beautiful, 18-mile-long rail-to-trail bike path that connects Pacific Grove with Castroville. Along the way, you can stop at Monterey’s Fisherman’s Wharf, where many ocean experiences launch from. This includes Monterey Whale watching excursions to see marine wildlife like sea lions, gray whales, sea otters, and humpback whales. Even kayaking tours, scuba diving, sailing trips, and paddle boarding are being offered in Monterey CA.

Romantic Getaways

The Monterey Peninsula also is a place to get pampered and relax. From wonderful spa hotels to romantic restaurants, the destination is known for offering breath-taking coastal views, for example along the scenic 17-mile Drive, or even just when strolling along Monterey’s waterfront to Lovers Point Beach Park, the Kissing Rock Viewpoint, Point Pinos Lighthouse, and the Heart-shaped Love Rock.  A special treat also is a visit to nearby Carmel by the Sea with its quaint cottages and cobblestone streets.
